WSBK 2012 Round 01 Australia Race 1
Some nice dude uploaded a whole race, broadcasted by Euro sport channel, which is better than Speed channel of the US in my opinion.

Leverty's Yamaha R1 WSBK
Like Ducati, due to the financial difficulty, Yamaha pulled out of WSBK at the end pf 2011 season; they ditched WSBK and wanted to focus on MotoGP, which is switching to bigger displacement bikes (from 800cc to 1000cc). I personally enjoy WSBK more than MotoGP, mainly because the bikes are based on production bikes and more manufacturers participated in the series . But the change of regulation of MotoGP might make it more enjoyable for me. At least will be more bikes on the grid, I hear.

Crash and Burn
"Back in 1975 my friends and I were high school kids, racing bikes and sluffing school to go riding, reading Dirt Bike Magazine in class, and generally living the life. Here is a picture we took up at the old Gun Club track and submitted to Dirt Bike's "Crash and Burn" special. It got published!"

Science Nation Army
Using real footage and sounds from a working science lab, the Inside Knowledge team have reconstructed the White Stripes song Seven Nation Army from scratch.

Vaco12 -Bean Bag Helmet
"Originally designed for orthopedic rehabilitation, Vaco12 technology uses vacuum cushions filled with millions of small, round beads to provide better fitting, more protective sports gear. The beads simultaneously provide a snugger, more comfortable fit on your head and are said to absorb impact up to four times more efficiently than traditional foam - just what's needed in sports like skiing and snowboarding in which professional and recreational athletes are constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible." Do you know the shape of skull is quite different depending on the race? My round skull will not fit right on European helmet. Tight on sides, loose on front and back. The same with ten gallon hat. Kinda sucks when you buy high-dollar ones on-line and not having good fit. Also not fitting tight all around means less protection, so this bean bag idea is seem pretty swell to me. But it is not for motorcycle riding; wonder when they make ones for motorcyclists.

Weapon of choice
I was asked to sculpt Chris Walken in "Sleepy Hollow", which has been done many times as collectibles goes and boring as Collin's story. So I suggested that I would love to do him from this clip. Or Joe Dirt
Workshop Manual
You get Clymer, Haynes manuals to work on bikes because they are cheaper to get. And soon you might notice some mistakes or total lies in those manuals. For example, Clymer manual for GL1000 (Goldwing) shows carb jets in wrong holes. The funny part is that it's been reprinted many times since the seventies and the mistake has never been corrected. I could not find how much of compression should CB750K have on Clymer manual. They make mistakes about metric measurement ( like one freaking digit off) as if they don't care for Metrics users...
A lot of old mechanics prefers factory shop manuals. They are written by those who build the bikes thus should be better. Yet some says that those manuals assumes readers are trained motorcycle mechanics so beginner might have hard time following it. The best thing you can do is to get all of manuals available for the bike. Yeah, gets expensive if you buy them all, but you can always find on-line manuals for free if you are willing to spend some time in front of computer. Here are some links you can try. Carlsalter, Repair manual Club.
Also you can find forums for your model of bikes. They can usually direct you to the right places. Good luck. Remember, some manuals lie! Like this one. I can't find any parts they mentions in there other than Holoprojector lens, which was an overhead passenger cabin lights from old Vickers Viscount 700 passenger turboprop, BAE 748 and BAE Beech King aircraft.

Nice Ad
I failed to guess what the ad was for till very end.
Magnic Light.
I want to support this thing. I am not much of cyclist, but did my time back in the days. There would be cool on motorcycles, too.
Visit kick starter to support this project.

Guess it is real cold in Swiss
Via Book of Joe
Swiss man, Pascal Prokop had installed a wood-burning stove in his 1990 Volvo 240 station wagon. and surprisingly got an operating permit from the Swiss technical inspection authority.
Gyroscopic Self Leveling pool table
I am amazed that some people have to play pool so much even when they are on cruise ship trips.

For all you copy cat wannabees!
Make it more uncomfortable and less ridable! Get some fake cafe racer clubman bars, lose the seat for a board covered in vinyl, take off that rear fender and mount the license plate on the side like the Harleys do! I'm sure you know more about bike building than the designers and engineers that built it.
You're a wannabee of a bunch of copy-cats, English guys who copied Grand Prix racers in the 1960's with BRITISH and European bikes, not cheap 1970s Japanese copies. There were No Japanese bikes in England going round the cafes at this time.
And the Members Only jackets were never cool, even when new! The only guys wearing them were sleezy, Middle Eastern / Eastern Bloc, disco types like your Dad.
You're not a biker, just a posuer wannabee trying to be cool but, just trying makes you look stupid to the rest of the motorcyclists who know better.
If you want to see real copy cat cafe racers, watch a film called Leather Boys. See if you can find any Jap bikes in that film.
Cheers!

Mobility Scooter in the SNOW
It is the same scooter the UK prankster Colin Furze made the 70mph record with.

Ali Spagnola
Ryan sent me a link. I was not gonna watch the whole thing, but I was convinced at around 4 minutes mark, watched whole thing and decided to support her art and what she stands for.
Besides I like drinking as you can tell from the tittle of my blog.
She is quite an artist according to her regular sites Ah.. no wonder I was getting familiar feeling from watching her video...She is a former art student...
Happy 81st
James Dean's Uncle Marcus bought him his first motorcycle, a 1947 Czech Whizzer, which is in the first picture.
Jimmy also owned an English cycle, a Harley, a 500cc Norton, an Indian 500,
an Italian Lancia scooter and a British Triumph T-110,
which had "Dean’s Dilemma" painted on the side.

Joy Ride by the Nikon D800
A short film entirely shot by the Nikon D800. It is commissioned by Nikon so basically made to showcase the camera's ability to shoot in the dark. Reminded me of a preachy music video. If you are interested you can watch the making of this video here
'The Impossible Dream 1.5'
Honda is a motor company. They make everything with motor in it.This is a new version of the dream ad. The old version ended with a balloon but as they started to develop jet planes and solar power panels/ vehicles they decided to add some more, I guess. Either way it is a cool ad.
Making of a Shade
Soren Berger makes one of his unique wooden lampshades with his lathe.
Reminded me of the days I was a (sort of )potter. I must say this seems like a lot of work for a lamp shade.

Garage to Apartment
Jérémie Buchholtz wanted an affordable apartment in Bordeaux (he's a photographer who splits his time between Paris and Bordeaux so his budget was limited), but he wasn't finding anything he liked. Then he stumbled upon a listing for a garage.
There was no house, it was just an abandoned garage for sale. And it looked like one. It had big metal doors that blocked out any sunlight and inside it was being used more as a junk room. So Buchholtz called his friend and architect Matthieu de Marien who specializes in converting stores, offices and other spaces into homes.
The ability to utilize small space efficiently is a great skill to have. I have seen many people who suck at it.

Syncing carbs on CB550
I probably need to sync mine as well.
Additional info:
Mistakes made were syncing with the RPM way too high. It should be at idle or about 1000 RPM for the Cb550. This is where the adjustment is most sensitive.
With these particular carbs, you pick the carb with the highest vacuum, declare it the "master" and never adjust the slide on that one. You adjust the other three to the reading the "master" carb has.
Reason being, is that it is possible to skew all the slides adjusters so that idle speeds can't be achieved by the idle knob (likely what was wrong with the bike in the video).
