Voltitude fold-up pedal-assist electric bicycle

The Volitude fold-up pedal-assist electric bicycle (or pedelec) from Swiss company Volitude SA has now entered production. The body of the bike features the unique EasyFold mechanism that allows it to be folded or unfolded in just a second and has seen it dubbed the “Swiss Army Bike.” According to gizmag, the bike is powered by a 250 W electric motor with an integrated torque sensor that provides motor assistance up to an electronically-limited 25 km/h (16 mph) so that it will go with current EU regulations. The 11.6 Ah, 36 V lithium-ion battery provide a range of around 40 km (25 miles), depending on the terrain and amount of effort the rider is willing to exert.I understand that it needs to be within the EU regulation but the performance is unimpressive to me. The sad part is that this thing costs more than 250cc motorcycle likes of Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Voltitude is selling the V1 for CHF4,990 (approx. US$5,465) almost 500 bucks more than the 250 Ninja. Only 16 mph assist, Up to 25 miles, and Six hours to recharge. Not impressive at all. Those tiny wheels gonna catch a pothole and throw you away...The only thing I like about this bike is that it is all made with easy to recycle material.
