Solex was a French manufacturer of carburetors and the powered bicycle VéloSoleX. The bike( should be categorized as moped since it has pedals) has a 49cc 2 stroke motor mounted on the front wheel. Power is delivered via a small ceramic roller that rotates directly on the front wheel by friction to the tire.
The race looks fun. The brick road and rain don't go well for 2 wheelers. I have been there.
