Aftermarket ignition switch can be problem on older bikes. This CB750 for example, the wiring was not too long, so turning the bar to far right was pulling the connection; resulting cutting all the power. While it has been fixed, then inside of switch was shorting out. Soldering iron is a necessary tool for older bikes.
