Kaneda's Bike on the Road in Japan

The only officially recognized replica of Shotaro Kaneda’s motorcycle from Katsuhiro Otomo’s graphic novel and animetation film, Akira is currently traveling across Japan. Shinji Tejima from the Showa Studio automobile repair shop spent seven years and approximately 10 million yen (about US$121,400) to build the motorcycle, and he is riding it across Japan to raise money for the children’s autism support group Bokura Company. Tejima started his journey in Fukuoka where he lives and is traveling south and has stopped in various cities such as Osaka, Nagoya, and on Shōdo Island. "Mr.Tejima will also display the motorcycle at the “Katsuhiro Otomo GENGA Exhibition” in Tokyo, which is being held from April 9 to May 30. Visitors to the exhibition will be able have their picture taken while sitting on the bike. The exhibition itself is being held to raise money to support the reconstruction efforts in the Tohoku region after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami disaster." I believe Mr.Tejima went by Neo-Fukuoka. From the exhaust note in the film, I think the bike's got probably 400cc single. I believe it also is rear wheel drive with 3 chains and 6 sprockets and got linked steering system in order to avoid long rake of front fork.  Via:Gunjap

Offically licensed Kaneda Jacket

Anime fans can finally get their hands on the iconic red jacket that Kaneda wears thanks in part to Bandai who will produce a limited run of replica jackets starting January 2012.

Series creator Katsuhiro Otomo worked side by side with Bandai to ensure that every detail is correct from the logos down to height of the collar and with of the shoulder protectors.

Also available is a black 30th anniversary edition which replaces the capsule logo on the back with a "2019 A.D. 28 Neo Tokyo" logo.

Both jackets are available in sizes M-3XL and can be pre-ordered now for 69,800yen ($910USD) through the A Project Website.

It looks nice but I don't know if I can pulled it off. 900 bucks is bit too much for me.
